Four years ago I was full of fear and full of excuses.
I wasn’t qualified enough (despite having qualifications in business, direct and digital marketing, project management and teaching)
I wasn’t old enough (when did age ever equal ability?!)
I didn’t have enough experience (despite having worked with businesses since I was 17 years old)
I didn’t have any money (having worked with zero budget before I know this is a poor excuse, there is always a way)
I didn’t think anyone would take me seriously (I didn’t take myself seriously)
I didn’t have the time (I wasn’t making the time, busy is not productive)
I couldn’t compete (I was focusing on those fancy facades on the internet rather than seeing my own value, my own worth.)
How did I move past all the fear and excuses?
The way forward doesn’t always present itself in the way we expect but the only way it can present itself at all is if we let it.
It’s after we start that things become clear. Not before.
Start with helping people. See what you can do and learn to trust yourself. Whatever you do, don’t stand still. Any action at all, in any direction, will help shift the fear and get you moving. You can’t out-think fear, you’ve got to prove it wrong with action.
